Who is Cameron?
Hi I’m Cameron, thank you for visiting! I’m a Senior UX/UI Designer and Researcher trying to learn and improve ever day. I have over 9 years experience designing and delivering world class software solutions in; Cybersecurity, Medical, and Education, and Entertainment
I am well extremely well-versed in using design tools (such as Figma) to create cross-functional design systems and pixel-perfect prototypes. I love working with new teams in different industries and have a proven track record delivering at global scale across a multitude of domains.
How I got here:
In 2014 I taught myself basic web design and development and shortly after landed my first tech job with Shook and Gunter. Shook and Gunter is a top Dallas criminal law practice, and as their sole web developer I was tasked with a complete overhaul of their existing web platform. To land this opportunity I prototyped a much improved redesign of their legacy website and pitched it alongside a simple digital marketing plan based on SEO data.
With an engineer partner in 2016, we began working on a concept for a revolutionary music streaming platform. Through 2016 and into 2017 we worked tirelessly on creating our first prototype. Then finally in April 2017 during my final semester at the University of Texas at Dallas, we were able to raise the initial capital to incorporate Tuner, Inc. and open business. The core vision of the Tuner, Inc. team was developing a platform named Brassroots. Brassroots is created to be the future of music streaming infrastructure. The entire Brassroots ecosystem is designed and developed to enable next-generation experiences for users on the top music streaming platforms across the globe. Through Brassroots, users can listen to music with others, share music in real-time, and explore music recommended through each other.
As CEO of Tuner Inc. I wore many hats, but a bulk of my time was spent as Lead Product Designer and Project Manager for our multiple product teams. As an organization we pushed each other to move rapidly, collaborate consistently, and think critically. Through our efforts we were able to systematically grow our valuation over 3 separate rounds of funding. In May 2018 the Tuner, Inc. team closed its latest round at a $2 Million valuation.
Through my operational experience with Tuner Inc, I established; key agile principles, user research protocols, centralized design systems, dynamic roadmaps, and a culture which constantly strived for perfection. Today, Brassroots is in beta testing, and the team is pushing it forward adjacent to other ventures.
During 2018 and 2019 I developed a separate operational team under the Tuner Inc enterprise, named Tuner Web Agency. The team at Tuner Web provides software consultancy in the form of development, UX/UI design, and systems analysis for market leading businesses. With Tuner Web Agency I developed almost a dozen websites and worked on have created application interfaces for clients in Healthcare, Data/Information, Logistics/Supply Chain, Legal, Finance, Non-Profit Charities, and Media.
During COVID I began working as a Senior UX/UI Designer for Palo Alto Networks within the “Services Innovation Engineering Team” of the Support Department.
After nearly 3 years working with Palo Alto Networks, in August 2023 I began a new opportunity as a Senior UX/UI Designer for Wolters Kluwer within their Health Department, working on a global nursing education platform.
